On Sunday morning, January 18, a car crashed through the front of Continental Fine Wines and Spirits at 55 William Street. The accident occurred during snowy conditions near the intersection of Church and William Streets in the Greenwich Hospital neighborhood. The building sustained a shattered display window and damaged siding.
Owner Corey Fine, who took over the 1963-era business last year, addressed the accident on Instagram here with a humorous comment:
"Owning a small business comes with plenty of curveballs...but I definitely didn't have 'car through the storefront' on my year-one bingo card. Welcome to Greenwich's first drive-thru liquor store."
Between the Lines:
Corey’s light-hearted response to a stressful situation makes you want to stop by 55 William Street just to say hello and support a local business owner handling a "curveball" with a good sense of humor.
