Courpas v Khanna gloves come off

Tina Courpas, Republican candidate, challenged incumbent Democrat Rachel Khanna who holds the CT State House 149th District seat at a debate held at Round Hill Community House on Monday Oct 8.

Courpas highighted the need to reform State rules (8-30g and transit-oriented development) that take away local zoning control in favor of developers. Courpas says she is a pro-choice Republican who supports the environment and worked at women't organizations. Courpas said that Khanna voted 98% of the time along Democrat party lines.

Khanna said she was proud of passing the largest tax cut in CT history and her ability to secure money for school and community projects. Khanna said Connecticut ranked among the safest states in the nation.

Between the lines: Are you feeling more prosperous and safe? Why are our friends and family members moving to lower cost states?
