CNBC has just published its 2025 rankings of the top states for business. While Connecticut moved up to #28 in overall rankings, from #32 last year, the results aren't great. The CNBC survey is here.
The good news is that CT has high ratings for education and quality of life, but the State ranked a low #37 for cost of living and #44 for cost of doing business.
CT Governor Lamont (D) says improving the state's business climate is a top priority, but after serving two terms (eight years) in office, it hasn't happened. “I worry that a lot of the growth over the last 20 years is in North Carolina and Georgia,” Lamont said in a recent interview. “I’m doing everything I can to make this a place where they want to not just maintain a workforce but grow a workforce.”
