The State Department of Transportation is going to do some rehabilitation work on the Cos Cob railroad bridge next year and officials will hold a public information meeting on Tuesday April 9 to detail their plans and answer questions.
The proposed project is to refurbish and replace parts of the machinery that lift and lower the Metro-North bridge over the Mianus River, according to a CT DOT project page. The bridge was constructed in 1904 and was last rehabilitated in 1989. The project is expected to be paid for completely by the state, CT DOT said.
The project is not slated to begin until fall 2025, but officials want to share their plans now and answer questions that local residents may have. The information session is on April 9 at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
Visit the CT DOT website for additional project details and a link to register to attend the online meeting.
