Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas called a press conference on Tuesday, September 1—not to announce that Connecticut is officially under a federal election investigation, but to admit that she simply isn't sure.
A report from CNN revealed that Connecticut is among nine states (along with California, Georgia, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Wisconsin) targeted by a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) initiative. The reported voter fraud surge focuses on investigating noncitizens registered to vote and is slated to run through mid-October.
