Connecticut's anti-Trump Attorney General William Tong (D) will speak at the Greenwich YWCA on Tuesday May 6 from 6:30 to 8 pm. The event is sponsored by 100 Black Men of Stamford and the YWCA Greenwich. Rachel Khanna (D), will moderate the discussion. Khanna represented State Senate District 149 covering Northeast Greenwich until she lost the seat in November 2024 to Tina Courpas (R).

This is good occasion to understand what Tong has been doing with his time lately.

So far, he has filed 13 lawsuits against the Trump Administration, about one per week. The lawsuits are against the Trump's orders banning birthright citizenship for illegal aliens, restricting non-citizens from voting, cutting Federal spending on wasteful public health programs and targeting sanctuary states such as CT for not cooperating with Homeland Security. Tong is proud of the many lawsuits he has filed against the Trump Administration and has earned the name "Lawfare" Tong.

In one of his many inflammatory statements, Tong says his job is to "protect Connecticut families from the threat of Donald Trump who means to hurt us."

Between the Lines - These legal efforts are costly. Tong has requested an extra $1.5 million in his budget from taxpayers to engage in these many legal efforts.
