Since the movie "Christmas in Connecticut" was released in 1945, Connecticut has been the quintessential backdrop for holiday cinema. To date, over 22 holiday movies have been filmed in Connecticut, including the 2024 release of "Trivia at St. Nick's", which brought the cameras to the streets of New London and Mystic.

Aiming to boost tourism revenue, the CT Tourism Office has created the Connecticut Christmas Movie Trail guide here. This guide allows fans to step directly into the scenes they see on Hallmark and Netflix.

Most Notable Movies:

The Noel Diary (Netflix, 2022): Filmed in locations such as the Griswold Inn in Essex, RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison, and New Canaan Town Hall.

Mystic Christmas (Hallmark, 2023): Filmed at actual Mystic locations, including Mystic Seaport and Friar Tuck's Tavern.

One Royal Holiday (Hallmark, 2020): Primarily filmed in Woodstock and Putnam, featuring the historic Inn at Woodstock.

Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane (Hallmark, 2018): Features the Silas W. Robbins House in Wethersfield.

Next Stop, Christmas (Hallmark, 2021): Utilized the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat as a key location.

Between the Lines: While the state uses our charming small towns to attract tourists, the new top-down housing mandates are making our small towns extinct. Get ready for the next Connecticut holiday blockbuster: "A Connecticut Christmas in the Condo Complex".
