On Tuesday, March 11, Muhammad Abdul Malik, age 19, from Bronx, NY and Yadiel Baez, age 20, from Waterbury, CT, were arrested. A Nissan, operated by Malik, was traveling in the Belle Haven neighborhood. The Nissan was seen slowing down and stopping at driveways, which matches behaviors of car thieves that have been operating in Greenwich and surrounding areas.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to pull over and fled onto the Field Point Road I-95 southbound on-ramp. In response, officers successfully deployed tire deflation devices on the ramp. The vehicle was later located abandoned in Rye, NY, with three flat tires. The suspects were arrested fleeing the scene.

Between the Lines - Authorities continue to explore their connection to additional vehicle thefts and related crimes in the region.
