The Greenwich Police Department just published their police blotter for the month of August 2025. The 12 DUI arrests this month are the highest of any month this year. Car thefts, car break-ins and residential burglaries continue to be an issue.

There were six car thefts. They occurred in Byram on Armonk Street and on Pine Street; in Mianus on Northridge Road; in Old Greenwich on Rockland Place; and in the Northwest section of Greenwich on Bedford Road near Locust Road. Police recovered all six stolen cars.

There were three car break-ins, in Old Greenwch on Forest Avenue near the Gables and on East Putnam near the Hyatt; and in Byram on Pine Street.

There were two residential burglaries, one on Grahampton Lane near Lake Avenue and another in Mead Point on Indian Field Road.

Between the Lines: No wonder insurance rates have skyrocketed. The days of unlocked cars and homes are over.
