The Sound Beach Community Band (SBCB) invites Greenwich-area musicians to join them in a fun, music-filled 2024 Spring/Summer season.
Established in 1955, the SBCB is a firehouse band and true community band in Old Greenwich, CT. They are currently accepting new musicians to help make their 2024 Spring/Summer season the best one yet. Membership is open to musicians ranging from talented, middle-school level up through active or retired professional musicians. Auditions for instrumentalists from high school and above are not necessary.
Upcoming performances include the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on May 27th, Independence Day Ceremony at Town Hall on July 4th, the Fireworks in Binney Park on July 6th, a carnival in July, and concerts under the stars at Binney Park on July 28th and August 25th.
In addition to the opportunity to play in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, band members receive food and beverages at performances. It is a fun way to break out your instrument, meet new people, and keep your skills sharp during the Spring/Summer season.
The SBCB is under the musical directorship of Zachary Kampler. Weekly rehearsals are held June through August at the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department in Old Greenwich, CT.
