The Greenwich Police obtained a search warrant for the Harold Street, Cos Cob residence of Kristopher Chimblo, 36. During the search on August 27, they found 4 assault rifles, 2 shotguns, 5 handguns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, dozens of magazines (regular and high capacity), and hundreds of gun parts utilized for building and altering firearms. Some of the assault rifles had been converted into fully automatic weapons.

Mr. Chimblo has a history of drug-related arrests. In this posting by Christopher Fountain here, the Cos Cob branch of the Chimblo family has been keeping Greenwich police busy dating back to 1975.

An arrest warrant was issued for Chimblo for Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Chimblo was located in Westchester and arrested as a fugitive from justice. He is being held in Westchester awaiting an extradition hearing.

Between the Lines: How does a person with an arrest record obtain all of these weapons when CT is supposed to have the strictest gun laws in the country?
