Cody Kittle, Republican member of the Greenwich Board of Education since 2021, was appointed to the Board of Freddie Mac (aka Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp). Freddie Mac is a public company that guarantees most of the mortgage loans made in the U.S. It was bailed out by the U.S. government during the financial crisis of 2008 for making too many bad loans.

Bill Pulte, heir to homebuilder Pulte Homes, was brought in by the Trump Administration to shake up the mortgage agencies. Pulte, who tapped Kittle to serve on the Board of Freddie Mac, said that he is cutting regulations, reducing spending and getting rid of fraud.

A number of Greenwich Republicans have joined the Trump administration. Linda McMahon, founder of World Wrestling Enterprises (WWE), was appointed Secretary of Education. Steve Warzoha, Vice Chair of the Greenwich Republican Town Committee (RTC), was recently appointed to work for Linda McMahon. Linda Whitridge, member of the Greenwich RTC from Old Greenwich was appointed early this year to serve in the Department of Treasury under Secretary Scott Bessent.

Between the Lines: Freddie Mac trades under the symbol FMCC. The stock is up 63% year to date and 300% over the last 12 months. Looks like the market has a lot of confidence in this restructuring.
