A Greenwich tutor that couldn't be trusted

He worked as a private tutor beginning in 2019 with a seven year old girl who lived in Greenwich. John Mueser, now 74 of Yonkers, NY, was already serving a 25 year sentence in New York for sexual assault of this student. Greenwich police filed additional charges against Mueser for risk of injury to a minor, possession of child pornography and voyeurism that occurred in 2020. He was sentenced in July 2025 with an additional six years that he will serve concurrently.

Meuser had worked at Riverdale Country School in Bronx, NY for 30 years, while also doing work as a private tutor for families in the region.

Between the Lines: In addition to the Greenwich girl, he had other victims in the area.
